President Marcos directed the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and related agencies to address the needs of the estimated 40 million underserved individuals lacking formal water supply.
“We have to focus on the 40 million underserved population and there are a few strategies that we have in mind in order for us to provide water to these communities,” the DENR official added after attending a recent sectoral meeting in Malacañang. He, however, explained that a desalination system would need a lot of resources to build and use in the country.
