Manila Standard national sovereignty and interests in the West Philippine Sea .

In a simple ceremony held in Malacañang with many lawmakers and government officials in attendance, President Marcos signed Republic Act 12064 or the Philippine Maritime Zones Law and RA 12065 or the Philippine Archipelagic Sea Lanes Law.

With these pieces of legislation, President Marcos hopes to improve the Philippines’ capacity for governance and reinforce its maritime policies for economic development and national security, in accordance with the Constitution. “Our people, especially our fisherfolk, should be able to pursue their livelihood free from uncertainty and harassment.
