President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Wednesday recognized the teachers' role in building a better future for the nation."I firmly believe that education is the bedrock of every prosperous society, and that those who dedicate their lives to teaching are important drivers of our nation," Marcos said in a statement on the occasion of National Teachers' Day.
Marcos said the event was a good opportunity to express the country's sincerest appreciation for the teachers' “invaluable service to the nation as we safely reopen our schools and bring forth a new era of learning amidst the post-pandemic world." "I trust that, with the help of our teachers, our country will grow stronger with every Filipino becoming more capable of building a better future for all," the President said.
