PRESIDENT Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. formally received the credentials of non-resident Ambassador Santiago Javier Chavez Pareja of Ecuador in Malacañang.
Their meeting happened last Tuesday, April 25.'We were pleased to receive the credentials of His Excellency Santiago Javier Chavez Pareja, Non-resident Ambassador of Ecuador to the Republic of the Philippines, in a ceremony at the Palace [yesterday],' the Chief Executive said in a statement posted on his official social media accounts.
During their face-to-face, Marcos committed to the deepening of diplomatic ties between the two countries, 'rooted in over seven decades of friendship'.'e open doors to new opportunities and growth in the areas of agriculture, trade and investment, and cultural and educational cooperation for the Philippines and Ecuador,' he said.Diplomatic ties between the Philippines and Ecuador were officially forged on July 5, 1948.
