President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered the swift and safe repatriation of Filipinos from Israel following escalating tensions with Iran. The president promised financial assistance, accommodation, and livelihood support for those returning home. The Philippine government has also raised the alert level in Israel and Iran, recommending voluntary repatriation for Filipinos.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has issued directives to relevant government agencies to ensure the safe, prompt, and organized repatriation of Filipinos currently residing in Israel . Marcos stated that approximately 200 Filipinos residing in Israel have expressed their desire to return home amid the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran .The president emphasized the government's commitment to swiftly bringing Filipinos back to the Philippines .
Upon their arrival, they will receive comprehensive support, including a financial assistance of P150,000, accommodation, transportation, and livelihood support packages encompassing training vouchers. These measures aim to facilitate their recovery and enable them to re-establish their lives.The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has raised the alert level to 3 in both Israel and Iran, recommending voluntary repatriation for Filipinos. In response to the situation, the government has already provided food packs and financial aid to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), many of whom are temporarily residing at the Migrant Workers Office hostel, with additional capacity available if needed.As of June 23, the Philippine Embassy in Israel reported that eight Filipino nationals sustained injuries as a result of Iran's missile attacks. Seven of those injured have since been discharged from hospitals, while one Filipino remains in critical condition. The president has reassured the public that the government is continuously monitoring the welfare of the Filipino caregiver who is in critical condition after her home was hit by an airstrike. He stated that the Filipino caregiver remains hospitalized, stable but requiring oxygen support and ventilation. The government is in constant communication with her family, ensuring she receives the necessary medical care.President Marcos reiterated the government's unwavering commitment to supporting Filipinos who choose to permanently return to the Philippines. He highlighted various programs available, including skills training, job matching, startup capital, and assistance in establishing small businesses or exploring new career opportunities. He urged Filipinos in Israel and Iran to remain in close contact with their respective Philippine embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran. He stressed the importance of following the embassies' guidance, keeping them informed of their current circumstances, and not hesitating to seek assistance.President Marcos emphasized that the safety and well-being of all Filipinos are paramount.From October 7, 2023, to June 12, 2025, a total of 1,333 Filipinos have been successfully repatriated from Israel. It is estimated that over 30,000 Filipinos were residing in Israel prior to the recent events.
