MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday instructed all frontline government agencies to ensure timely assistance to those affected by the southwest monsoon and Typhoon 'Carina.''Today, we have P2.88B worth of prepositioned aid and close to 4,500 personnel on standby for search, rescue, and retrieval operations,' Marcos said in a post of his official account on X, formerly Twitter.
The prepositioned fund is on top of the P43.15 million in various assistance distributed to over 770,000 individuals affected by the southwest monsoon in the Visayas and Mindanao last week.The President likewise noted that he will be holding a situation briefing later in the day at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council headquarters 'to assess the current situation and ensure that all necessary support is provided promptly and effectively.
