President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has ordered the creation of an inter-agency coordinating council to consolidate a master list of all the lands owned by the state in a bid to ensure their optimal use.
Based on Administrative Order No. 21 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on April 30, Marcos said that it is necessary to consolidate a comprehensive list of all government land s “to ensure the efficient and effective allocation and utilization of land resources for the country's national development goals.
Other members of the coordinating council are Office of the Executive Secretary, Department of the Interior and Local Government , Department of Agriculture , Office of the Solicitor General , Department of Justice , Land Registration Authority , Commission on Higher Education , and the Department of Information and Communications .The DENR’s Land Management Bureau will serve as the secretariat of the council and is expected to provide administrative and technical support to the council.
