As the country celebrates Pride Month, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Saturday called on Filipinos to continue supporting, respecting, and recognizing the LGBTQ+ community and their importance to society.

"Mahalaga na patuloy ang pagsuporta, pagrespeto at pagkilala sa kanilang mahalagang ginagampanang bahagi sa ating lipunan: ang kanilang di matatawarang kontribusyon sa iba't ibang larangan, nakikipagsabayan sa kaninuman; ang mga responsible at walang kapagurang tagapagtaguyod ng kanilang pamilya at tahanan,” Marcos said in his latest vlog.

[Translation: We must continue to support, respect, and recognize the role of the LGBTQ+ in our society: their undeniable contributions to various fields, their courage; the responsible, tireless bread winners of their families.] The president urged Filipinos to applaud the sector for their embodiment of Filipino skill and excellence, and help end discrimination against its members.

"Sa bagong Pilipinas ang Pilipino ay malaya at sa bagong Pilipinas ang Pilipino ay malawak ang isipan at malaya sa diskriminasyon o pagkutya," he said. [Translation: In the modern Philippines, Filipinos are free, open-minded, and free from discrimination.]
