President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. has approved the franchise bid of Leyte II Electric Cooperative which aims to ensure the power supply in parts of Leyte.Signed on August 9, 2024, Republic Act 12017 grants LEYECO II the franchise.

”The Presidential Communications Office said that in 2022, LEYECO II was recognized by the National Electrification Administration as one of the most outstanding electric cooperatives in the country.
