PRESIDENT Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. is not inclined to lift the state of calamity still in effect nationwide as he sees the country has yet to 'move away' from the pandemic. One big reason for this is that lifting the declaration would mean halting emergency measures addressing the pandemic as mandated by laws passed at the height of the global health crisis.
Marcos also pointed out that the Philippines must now veer away from seeing Covid-19 as an emergency and instead in the long term put it in the same rank as the flu and pneumonia.Doing so, will pave the way for more businesses to open up and further rev the economy to its pre-pandemic state.'Nandiyan lagi 'yan pero mag-ingat tayo para hindi tayo magkasakit . And that is the way that we should be handling Covid.
