PRAGUE: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday met with Czech Republic President Petr Pavel to explore opportunities for future partnerships between the two countries.
Marcos, who arrived around 10:37 a.m on Thursday , was accorded honors upon his arrival at the Prague Castle.The President was accompanied by First Lady Marie Louise Araneta-Marcos, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, Speaker Martin Romualdez, Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo, Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual, Presidential Communications Secretary Cheloy Garafil, and other Philippine government officials.
Marcos is expected to sign a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of labor consultation mechanisms, which aims to elevate cooperation between the Philippines and the Czech Republic for the safe and orderly migration of Filipino workers and provide a higher level of protection of their rights and welfare.Marcos and Pavel will have a tete-a-tete before addressing members of the media in a joint press conference.
