Marcos will conduct these extensive meetings at the sidelines of his three-day participation at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations -European Union Summit in Belgium starting December 12, DFA Assistant Secretary for ASEAN Affairs Daniel Espiritu said.With Belgium, Marcos is expected to discuss the country’s plans to expand cooperation in agriculture and renewable energy, Espiritu said.

Marcos will meet with his Spanish counterpart as well as since Spain will be the next president of the EU council. Spain just also acceded to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia , which the Philippines is part of.
