PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. urged local chief executives to “reflect” on the work they have done as he encouraged them to continue supporting the gains of the government even beyond their terms.During the League of Municipalities of the Philippines 2025 General Assembly, Marcos expressed hope that, as the term for LCEs comes to an end, no matter what path they choose afterward, they will continue to embrace the same grit, passion, and commitment to public service .
He also recognized the contributions of the mayors to the formulation and lobbying of key pieces of legislation, such as the Real Property Valuation and Assessment Reform Act, which addresses concerns related to the reclassification, valuation, and assessment process of land development, and the Automatic Income Classification of Local Government Units Act, which upholds standards in managing real properties and provides a more equitable system for local government financing.
