President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Wednesday said he is inclined to extend the state of public health emergency declared on the whole country in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
At a PinasLakas vaccination event in Manila, Marcos told reporters that he is considering to extend the declaration until the end of the year.
The state of public health emergency — declared in March 2020 at the onset of the pandemic by then-President Rodrigo Duterte — is set to expire on September 12.
