BARRING any hitches, former senator Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio will be proclaimed as president and vice president, respectively, on Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel 'Migz' Zubiri said on Monday.The Senate and the House of Representatives will convene on Tuesday, May 24, to canvass the votes cast for president and vice president.Zubiri said the NBoC will start the canvassing at 10 a.m. up to 10 p.m.
He said the NBoC might spend a maximum of 5 minutes to canvass each CoC.Pressed whether the NBoC can proclaim the winners by Thursday, Zubiri said, 'We will definitely do it Wednesday. Why prolong [it]?''With 31 million votes and with only 14 million votes for 2nd in line?' he said, referring to the unofficial tallied votes that Marcos and Vice President Maria Leonor 'Leni' Robredo garnered respectively.
