PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
will officially welcome Prime Minister Petr Fiala of the Czech Republic to Malacañang where both leaders are slated to hold a bilateral meeting Monday.Fiala arrived in the Philippines Sunday night. His two-day visit marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.The two leaders first met in December 2022 in Brussels, Belgium during the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the European Union Commemorative Summit.
Marcos and Fiala are expected to discuss defense cooperation, trade and investment, university linkages, judicial and labor cooperation.'The Philippines is committed to fostering vibrant and meaningful cooperation between ASEAN and the EU, as the ASEAN coordinator of the dialogue partnership until 2024,' the Department of Foreign Affairs earlier said.Fiala will be in the country until Tuesday, April 18.
