PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang today, Saturday, after an intial meeting with his counterpart Enrique Manalo.
Qin arrived in Manila Friday to try to boost ties with the Philippines, which is staging its largest-ever military exercises with the United States.Qin's visit coincides with the Philippines and the United States holding their largest joint military exercises, with nearly 18,000 troops taking part in live-fire and combat drills until April 28.He arrived in Manila at around 10 p.m.
Philippine foreign affairs analyst Richard Heydarian said Qin's visit is 'timely and extremely important' given the current state of relations between the two nations.'We're really confronting a total crisis in Philippine-China relations,' Heydarian told AFP.
