MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday expressed the Philippines' desire to further strengthen its ties with the United States (US) in a 'very good, friendly, and productive' call with US President-elect Donald Trump.
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday expressed the Philippines' desire to further strengthen its ties with the United States in a 'very good, friendly, and productive' call with US President-elect Donald Trump .Speaking to reporters in Catanduanes, the President said he was able to schedule a phone call with Trump to congratulate him on his victory in the recent US presidential elections.
Marcos said he also expressed to Trump the Philippines' desire to further strengthen its alliance with the US.'We talked about the alliance between the United States and the Philippines and I expressed to him our continuing desire to strengthen that relationship between our two countries which is a relationship that is as deep as can possibly be because it has been for a very long time,' he said.
