The government has distributed more than P1.2 million worth of humanitarian assistance to Filipinos affected by Typhoon Aghon, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said Monday.
On X , Marcos said that the government has also prepared more than P3 billion in standby funds and prepositioned goods and stockpiles to ensure a wider and faster relief given to those affected.“Asahan nating patuloy ang ating mga ahensya sa pagsuporta sa bawat komunidad at pagtiyak sa maayos na kalagayan ng ating mga mamamayan,” the President said.Marcos on Sunday urged Filipinos to stay vigilant and prioritize their safety as Aghon continued to move across the country.
He said he directed local government units, emergency services, and all relevant agencies to monitor the situation and provide necessary assistance, including food and non-food items, and health services.As of 8 a.m. Monday, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 was raised over the southeastern portion of Isabela , and the northern portion of Aurora as Aghon continued to move northeastward over the Philippine Sea.TCWS No. 1 was also hoisted over several other areas in Luzon.
