MANILA, Philippines — Despite the increase of Filipino players now playing overseas, PBA commissioner Willie Marcial is convinced that at some point, they will still bring their talents back to the Philippine professional league.

The seeming talent 'brain drain' has increased over the past three years with the likes of Dwight Ramos, Bobby Ray Parks and even Kiefer Ravena, along with PBA -ready players like Rhenz Abando, RJ Abarrientos and even 7-foot-3 young big man Kai Sotto playing abroad. But Marcial said in no way, will the pro league prevent them from seeking greener pastures.'Those players who play abroad, for me, that's OK, they are trying to make a living.

And it's really hard to be away from your family,' reasoned Marcial.Cream of the cropAnd while the Ravena brothers Kiefer and Thirdy, along with some of the biggest names among the young players stay away from the PBA in order to earn big bucks in the Japan B.League or Korean Basketball League, Marcial believes the cream of the crop of Philippine basketball are still in the PBA.'Yes, the cream of the crop are still here . And there are still a lot of players who want to play here.
