Naging emosyonal si dating Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog nang ilahad sa Quad Committee ng Kamara de Representantes ang hirap na kaniyang pinagdaanan nang isama siya ng administrasyong Duterte sa listahan ng mga politiko na sangkot umano sa ilegal na droga.
Aniya, bukod sa banta sa kaniyang buhay, may plano rin umano na gipitin siya para ituro ang dalawang lider ng oposisyon noon bilang mga drug lord.
May kasong katiwalian na kinakaharap ang dating alkalde na pinayagan naman ng korte na maglagak ng piyansa. “Just after that call, my Philippine cellphone rang. This time, it was another general. “Ito na siguro ang tamang pagkakataon na malaya akong kukuha ng lakas ng loob at magsasalita ng katotohanan kahit ako pa ay natatakot at may pangamba sa aking buhay,” patuloy niya. Binaril naman habang dumadalo sa flag raising ceremony si Tanauan City Mayor Antonio Halili noong 2018. Nananatiling hindi nalulutas ang kaso kung sino ang bumaril at nagpapatay sa alkalde.
“From the very start to the statement-affidavit of Mayor Jed Mabilog and his preliminary remarks, it is all about politics,” anang kongresista.
