In line to “The Red Rocket” David Dowling, Mantario settled away fifth in the early going in the $3,500 Preferred Pace as rail-sitter Spicey P went to the lead. Spicey P’s opening splits were in 29 and 58.4 with Stash It Away moving up first-over to challenge and Mantario taking a trip from the back to grab second-over cover in the outer flow.
