Manila Water Foundation , the corporate social responsibility arm of Manila Water Corp. recently inaugurated family sanitation facilities in Sitio Sapang Munti within the Ipo Watershed–a crucial water source located in Norzagaray, Bulacan.
Manila Water said the family sanitation facilities will be for the benefit of more than 500 adults and children and will prevent raw water contamination for millions of households and businesses in Metro Manila who rely on this major source of raw water supply. “The family sanitation facilities’ safe and secure toilets will prevent further incidences of raw water contamination, protect the environment, and uphold the dignity of families, especially young girls and women.”
Representing the MWSS, Environment, and Forest Specialist Azyleah Abino urged the community to protect the watershed by keeping their surroundings clean and encouraged the parents to start teaching young children how to use the toilet.
