Manila records 25 new cases of COVID19; total now at 957

The city of Manila recorded 25 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 on Wednesday, raising the total to 957 cases, the city public information office said.Tondo 1 has the most number of active cases of COVID-19 with 193, followed by Sampaloc with 125, and Tondo 2 with 73. Manila Mayor Isko Moreno earlier placed Sampaloc and the first district of Tondo under hard lockdown in an effort to contain the virus.

Malacañang on Tuesday said that Metro Manila, Laguna and Cebu City will shift to a modified lockdown until the end of the month while the rest of the country will have fewer restrictions as the enhanced community quarantine lapses on Friday. To date, the Philippines has tallied 11,618 coronavirus infections, with 772 deaths while 2,251 have recovered.
