The Manila city government held a send-off ceremony for security forces assigned to secure activities related to the Feast of the Black Nazarene at Rizal Park’s Open-Air Auditorium, in Ermita, Manila on Thursday, Jan. 5.
More than 5,000 personnel from the Manila Police District , Philippine National Police , Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection , Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Joint Task Force-National Capital Region , city government, and Quezon City Police District , will help in the security and preparation for the Black Nazarene feast this year.
The mayor, along with MPD officers, also conducted an ocular inspection at the Quirino Grandstand before the send-off ceremony. The image of the Black Nazarene will be displayed at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila from Jan. 7 to 9. A mass will be held every midnight during the three-day celebration.
