Manila launches 'e-waste for concert ticket' project

THE Manila City government, through the Department of Public Services, initiated a waste diversion project involving the turnover of unused electronic equipment or e-waste in exchange for a concert ticket.

E-waste products are home and office appliances.The city government said, however, that it will only accept e-wastes that are whole and not turned over as parts.The conversion rates are:1 small e-waste like cellphone batteries and charger=1 concert ticket1 whole medium e-waste like toaster, small TV, microwave, etc.=2 concert tickets1 whole large e-waste like refrigerator, washing machine, etc.

=3 concert ticketsThe Manila Public Information Office said anyone can start dropping off their e-waste starting Oct. 23 until Nov. 5 2023, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at:*Ortega Covered Court, Barangay 737 Zone 80, District V, Malate Manila;*DENR Central Office, in front of DENR Gate along Visayas Ave.
