Over 500,000 families in Manila will each receive a P1,000-cash assistance from the city government as part of an amelioration program during the enforcement of enhanced community quarantine measures to stave off the threats posed by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Sunday signed City Ordinance No. 8625 or the City Amelioration Crisis Asisstance Fund , authorizing the allocation of a P591 million-supplemental budget to provide financial aid to about 568,000 families.
In his city address on Sunday, Domagoso said the house-to-house distribution of the cash aid will start on Tuesday and may be finished within the week.
