At least 41 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in the Manila City Jail were released on Thursday to be with their families this Christmas season.
Some of the PDLs were released as part of the good conduct time allowance and through plea bargaining agreements. Others gained freedom after their cases were dismissed or after they were allowed to post bail.
The freed PDLs are still required to undergo drug dependency examination and drug counseling under the city's treatment and rehabilitation center.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
