THE Manila Cathedral will ring out its bell 95 times -- one for each year of the late Pope Benedict XVI's life -- at exactly 6 p.m today, Thursday, after the Funeral Mass at the Vatican to be presided by Pope Francis.The Solemn Funeral Mass is scheduled at 9 a.m. at the St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.Meanwhile, a Eucharistic Celebration will be offered by the Archdiocese of Manila dedicated to the Pope-emeritus to be held at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 5 p.m.

The Mass will be led by Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula and Papal Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Charles John Brown.In a circular letter, the Archdiocese of Manila invited the priests, nuns and laity of the archdiocese to attend and join in prayer for the deceased former head of the church.Also attached to the letter signed by Fr. Carmelo Arada Jr., Archdiocese of Manila vice chancellor, is a prayer for the late Benedict XVI.Benedict XVI passed away on Saturday, December 31.
