After a long hiatus, snooker and billiards champion Marlon 'Marvelous Captain' Manalo of the Philippines returns to the international circuit when he competes in the money-rich Qatar World Cup 10 Ball on Dec. 5-14, 2024 at Ezdan Palace Hotel in Doha, Qatar . This prestigious 10-ball tournament offers a total pot prize of $450,000 with the winner getting the lion share of $100,000.
Manalo, an AB Economics graduate of Jose Rizal University, is also a many-time winner in the US pool circuit and placed runner-up to Reyes in the 2004 World 8-Ball Championship in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. He also bagged the silver medal in snooker by placing second to Bjorn Haneveer of Belgium in the 2001 Akita, Japan World Games.
