The drug smuggler, from North Sydney, was involved in a large-scale operation to bring the cocaine, worth $248 million, into Sydney from Brazil. The man was sentenced to 13 years and seven months' jail, with a non-parole period of eight years and two months in the Sydney District Court on 9 December 2022.A sample of the seized banana pulp, which contained cocaine hidden inside, is shown on a set of scales.Acting on a tip-off from US authorities, the Australian Border Force intercepted a shipment from Brazil containing 2,000 boxes of fruit pulp.
