New Glasgow Regional Police has charged a 52-year-old man with uttering threats. - FileNEW GLASGOW, N.S. — A 52-year-old man from Pictou County is facing charges after police allege he uttered threats during two separate incidents at a home in New Glasgow.
On Feb. 17, at around 7:12 p.m., New Glasgow Regional Police, assisted by the Stellarton Police Service, received a 911 call reporting that a man was believed to be in possession of a firearm and making threats at a Little Harbour Road home.No firearm was found, and no injuries were reported. The man, from Pictou County, was charged with uttering threats, impaired operation of a motor vehicle and failure to comply with a release order. He was released later on an undertaking.
Then, on Feb. 18, around 7:30 p.m., New Glasgow Regional Police received another call from the same home reporting that the same man was again in possession of a firearm and making threats.The man was again charged with uttering threats and failure to comply with a release order. He was remanded into custody and is set to appear in Pictou provincial court on Tuesday, Feb 21.It has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
