A man is in custody after he allegedly fatally stabbed his housemate in the back over a noise dispute in Far North Queensland.

A man has died after he was allegedly stabbed by his housemate in Far North Queensland following continued arguments over noise coming from a room.

Paramedics were first to arrive at the address, where they found a 57-year-old man with injuries to his back. He died at the scene.A homicide investigation is underway following the death of a man at a property on Hollywood Boulevard in White Rock. Picture: Peter Carruthers The senior sergeant said there had allegedly been a number of arguments throughout the night and into the morning between the pair over noise.The housemate has been taken into custody, but police have not yet laid any formal charges.

He is expected to be charged with murder later today, as officers continue inquiries with neighbouring homes.
