Makati City has surpassed its 2022 target by 16%, posting over P20.9 billion in revenue collections, the local government unit has said.According to City Treasurer Jesusa Cuneta, the bulk of collections in 2022 came from business tax with P9,134,888,802.54, up by 10% from 2021.
The city treasurer said these were generated from realty taxes that surpassed the target by around 70%, following an intensive information drive. The records of the Business Permit and Licensing Office showed that there had been 4,439 new business registrants and 34,590 business permit renewals as of December 31, 2022.
