The Makati City local government announced that it will implement a traffic re-routing scheme on April 5 and 7 to give way to the Holy Week activities to be held in the city. ManilaBulletin
According to the city government, the re-routing scheme is part of its Public Safety Department's preparation for the procession to be held in Barangay Poblacion on April 7 at 6 p.m.1. Along Kalayaan Avenue to Manila - Take a right turn to Nicanor Garcia St. , left to Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue, the go straight to Buendia-Kalayaan Flyover on EDSA for vehicles bound for Pasig, Taguig, and Cubao or turn right to EDSA for those going to Pasay-Paranaque directions.
2. Along J.P Rizal Avenue from EDSA, take a left turn to Estrella St., right to EDSA, right to Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue, right to Nicanor Garcia St. , then go straight to J.P Rizal Avenue if heading to A.P. Reyes Avenue or Delpan St. Drivers along Gil Puyat Avenue may also go straight to Osmeña Highway if heading to Pasay City.
3. PSD traffic enforcers will manage traffic near the Makati-Mandaluyong Bridge during the procession. Expect delays of up to 1 hour or more since a stop-and-go scheme will be implemented. Aside from the said traffic re-routing, the city government also suspended its number coding scheme on April 6, 7, and 10 in observance of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Araw ng Kagitingan.
