Defining the News
Several major roads in Metro Manila are currently impassable due to flooding, caused by heavy rains from the southwest monsoon and Super Typhoon Carina, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority reported on Thursday.
Areas affected by floods include Ortigas Avenue Extension and parts of Valenzuela City such as the Bypass Road, Bahay Kanlungan, Maysan, Deato Street, and Balangkas. Furthermore, the MMDA reported flooding in the C-4 Road Tangos in Navotas City, caused by a damaged floodgate.They emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the effectiveness of government flood control projects despite substantial yearly allocations.
