Since MIC started operations in November 2023, it has generated P144 million for 2023 and an additional P1.4 billion in 2024, bringing the total interest income earned so far to around P1.5 billion. The company is also budgeting around P330 million for its expenses, including capital expenditure. According to Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, MIC officials have also yet to be paid, especially as compensation packages remain a contentious issue.
