The Maguindanao provincial government and its Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office are set to decide on Monday whether or not the search and rescue operations for the 17 missing individuals would still push through, following the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.

Interviewed on Super Radyo dzBB on Sunday, Maguindanao Provincial Administrator Atty. Cyrus Torreña said that Paeng left at least 63 dead and 17 missing in the province amid floods and landslides. “Hanggang ngayon kahit medyo malabo na ang survival, hinahanap pa rin natin ang 17 na missing,” he said. As to evacuees, Torreña said that less than 4,000 of them have remained staying in evacuation centers.
