A MAGNITUDE 6.1 earthquake hit Calatagan in Batangas on Sunday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.The quake, tectonic in origin, occurred at 5:50 a.m. It had a depth of 122 kilometers.Phivolcs said damage and aftershocks may be expected.
Intensity 4 was felt in Calatagan in Batangas and Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro.Intensity 3 was felt in Quezon City, Pasig, Tagaytay, Mendez, Amadeo and Alfonso in Cavite, Obando, Plaridel, San Ildefonso and Malolos City in Bulacan, Guagua in Pampanga, Tagaytay City, Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro, Batangas City, Olongapo City in Zambales, and Gumaca in Quezon.
