An earthquake with a magnitude measuring 4.7 jolted Isabela around 2:43 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported. ManilaBulletin READ:

The epicenter of the said quake was traced 17 kilometers southeast of Dinapigue, Isabela. It was tectonic in origin, which means that the seismic event was triggered by an active fault near the area.

Phivolcs, in its initial bulletin, said the following instrumental intensities were recorded: Instrumental Intensity III in Casiguran, Aurora; Instrumental Intensity II in Maddela, Qurino and City of Santiago in Isabela; and Instrumental Intensity I in Baler, Aurora.
