6,064 vehicles have been apprehended during the first 15 days of June
The Land Transportation Office has announced that it had apprehended 6,064 vehicles through its nationwide ‘No registration, No travel’ ops between June 1 and 15, 2024. This means, on average, the agency’s aggressive operations have netted 404 vehicles per day between June 1 to 15.
LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said the continuous operation should serve as a constant reminder to delinquent motor vehicle owners of their obligation to renew the registration of their vehicles. “The renewal of the registration is not only an obligation to the government, it is also an obligation to yourself and your family because doing so would compel you to ensure the roadworthiness of your motor vehicles, for your safety, for the safety of your love ones,” said Mendoza.
Based on LTO’s data, out of the 6,064 apprehended, 940 were motor vehicles and 5,127 were motorcycles. A total of 5,470 were issued with violation tickets while 981 were impounded. Of the four-wheel vehicles, 34 of them are passenger jeepneys while seven are passenger buses. “We will continue to strictly implement the No Registration, No Travel policy. Let us not wait to be hassled before we do the right thing of registering our motor vehicles,” added Mendoza.AutoIndustriya.com is the leading automotive resource for the Philippines.
