The Land Transportation Office has issued a show cause order against the owner and driver of a taxi that recently caught fire along EDSA in Quezon City on Wednesday.According to a statement issued by LTO on Friday, the objective of the order is to clear issues surrounding the road-worthiness of the taxi. The taxi caught on fire in front of a shopping mall along EDSA northbound lane in Quezon City on Wednesday evening.

The owner and driver were asked to appear at the LTO Central Office on January 27 with a notarized affidavit explaining what happened and why they should not be held liable for alleged failure to ensure the road-worthiness of the vehicle.“The vehicle was being used to transport passengers.
