CEBU CITY — To prepare for the expected increase in motor vehicle activity during the holiday season and the upcoming Sinulog Festival, the Land Transportation Office – Central Visayas (LTO-7) has initiated the deputization program for Cebu City traffic enforcers.
CEBU CITY — To prepare for the expected increase in motor vehicle activity during the holiday season and the upcoming Sinulog Festival, the Land Transportation Office – Central Visayas has initiated the deputization program for Cebu City traffic enforcers.Cebu City Traffic Office assistant head Kent Francesco Jongoy said that the program aims to strengthen road safety enforcement by providing enforcers with the necessary authority and training to handle traffic violations more effectively.
However, the enforcement of franchise-related violations, such as addressing 'colorum' vehicles, remains under review.He said the LTO Central Office, headed by Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II, will approve the deputization of enforcers after receiving endorsements from LTO-7.These newly deputized officers will then be deployed across Cebu City to strengthen road safety enforcement, particularly in high-traffic areas and during weekly checkpoints.
