TROPICAL Storm 'Bolaven' (international name) and a low pressure area (LPA) -- are closely being monitored by the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Weather specialist Obet Badrina said on Monday that Bolaven, last spotted some 2, 830 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, has a slim chance of entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the coming days but it is the LPA that will 'probably enter PAR over the next 24 to 48 hours.
' Just the same, Badrina said 'the LPA will not directly affect the country as this is not expected to escalate into a tropical depression,' he added.The state-run weather agency in a 5 a.m. advisory said that the trough of the LPA is bringing overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mindanao, Eastern Visayas and Central Luzon.
