Among the standout performances, Lani, who played the role of Mama Euralie, stole the show for me, with her heartwarming portrayal of a mother’s unconditional love. Her rendition ofwas truly moving, making the audience feel the deep bond she shared with Ti Moune. Throughout the show, their performances kept me emotionally engaged. I found myself tapping my fingers during the lively and infectious, and beaming with joy when the heartfeltBut aside from its cast, I believe much of its magic wouldn’t have been possible without the outstanding production and sound designs.
Social equality or the stark contrast between the impoverished and wealthy was evident in the different worlds of Ti Moune and Daniel. It was clear that the female protagonist did not have the same resources and opportunities like the love of her life.The musical also delved into the theme of class division, as seen in the rigid structure of the island. Ti Moune’s star-crossed romance with Daniel challenged the boundaries imposed by their class distinctions.
