Lorry driver nabbed for letting off fireworks on highway FMTNews
A widely-shared video clip showed a man setting off fireworks at the MRR2 highway recently.
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a man who was seen on a video clip setting off fireworks on the Middle Ring Road 2 opposite Petronas Lotus Ampang here recently. Ampang Jaya police chief Farouk Eshak said the man, a lorry driver aged 35, was detained at 10pm yesterday. Preliminary investigations showed he had set off the firecrackers at the request of customers of a premises owned by his friend.
The man, who has no criminal record, has been remanded until Wednesday. Farouk said the case was being investigated under the Explosives Act and the Minor Offences Act for letting off fireworks.
