Sunday, January 19, is a special day in Cebu City as the much-awaited Sinulog Grand Parade hits the streets.Excitement is in the air as revelers arrived early at the parade route to get good spots, according to Vincent John Abordo of GMA Regional TV. Police personnel were deployed along the parade route to ensure peace and order. The Sinulog Festival is held annually every January in honor of the Sto. Nino de Cebu.On Sunday, a child dressed as Sto. Nino was among those seen in the crowd.
A live stream of the parade will be shown at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, via GMA Regional TV and GMA Integrated News’ Facebook and YouTube channels, GMA RTV News’ Facebook page and on www.gmaregionaltv.com. A Red Alert status was earlier hoisted over Cebu City in line with the 460th Fiesta Señor and Sinulog Festival 2025 celebration.The status is based on the recommendation of the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to place the city on Red Alert effective immediately.
