Localized thunderstorms seen nationwide

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration , the southwest monsoon or “habagat” may still slightly affect Batanes and Babuyan Islands, bringing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms within 24 hours.

A gale warning remains in effect on Monday due to strong winds associated with the southwest monsoon enhanced by typhoon “Igme” that is outside the Philippine area of responsibility. Meanwhile, fishing boats and other small boats are safe to sail over the rest of the country’s coastal waters due to slight to moderate sea conditions.
