Live: Aussie bowlers try to unseat fighting West Indies openers
Morning all and welcome to day three of the first Test between the West Indies and Australia in Perth.
Simon Smale and Jon Healy with you again today for what promises to be a pivotal day in this match and series. There were 379 runs scored for the loss of just two wickets yesterday on a pitch that is turning into a batting paradise for everyone save David Warner thus far. There is still plenty in it for the bowlers though, we've seen balls turn and bounce for Nathan Lyon and Roston Chase yesterday, while there has been movement off the seam for all the quicks as well.
Yesterday, we saw a batting masterclass from Steve Smith, and a genuinely joyous traditional opening stand from Tagenarine Chanderpaul, who wore ball after ball on his body but played some shots to move to 47 and within a whisker of a maiden Test half century on debut.Should be a ripping day of cricket and we can't wait to enjoy it with you all.
