Lexus committing to becoming an all-electric brand by 2035
, they showed off a bevy of concepts that show what the future of the Lexus Driving Signature would look like. Two months after Akio Toyoda, Toyota Motor Corporation President and Lexus Brand Holder made the announcement, the Japanese carmaker released more photos of products that will become part of its “Lexus Electrified” range.
The most interesting of the products announced is the Lexus BEV Sport. Like other high-performance sportscars, it carries bold proportions and a low ride height. Considered the spiritual successor to the LFA, it accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in the low two-second range. Yet, thanks to its solid-state batteries, it will offer a cruising distance exceeding 690 kilometers.
Lexus will have a full line-up of battery EVs in all vehicle segments by 2030, and by 2035, its global sales will be 100 percent electric .
